Lower Back Relief Position

Dr. Clayton Roach: If you’re having low back pain, it doesn’t matter if it’s a pain across your back that has you bent over like this. The pain in your glute, thigh, leg, foot, and sciatic pain doesn’t matter. Here is the best position to relieve you and probably get you to work the next day. Find a comfortable place to lie on your back in a relaxed position. Next, you’re going to find a couch or a bench where you can have your knees and hips at 90 degrees with your legs lying on the court or the sofa for 10, 15 minutes, and it’s going to give you relief.

And for those with acute low back pain, while in this position for 10 to 15 minutes, you might kill two birds with one stone. Grab an ice pack, lift your butt off the floor, put the ice pack on the bottom of your lower back, and enjoy the benefits of cryotherapy. The cold will vasoconstrictor the blood vessels. Make sure the inflammation gets out of there. Rest there for 10/15 minutes and enjoy your renewed lower back.
